My Full Moon Intuition

A few months ago, a well-known astrologer, Debra Silverman, told me that I was born under a full moon.

So, what does it mean?

In astrology, it means you are highly intuitive. But she quickly pointed out that I, unfortunately, have developed the skill of canceling out my intuition and going with logic.

Light bulb moment: it was so true.

I recognized what she was saying immediately. I thought I had a crazy strong imagination, but apparently, I have a crazy strong intuition. I know stuff.

So I’ve been trying to listen.

I was recently at the Cleveland Clinic with a relative and after spending the day in the hospital, I went to back to the hotel. I was a little tired, but my intuition was feeling chatty and told me to go to the restaurant at my hotel. I argued with myself and then realized, wait, this is my intuition.   So I went. I sat down at the bar and ordered an Old Fashioned. Not sure why; apparently it’s my intuition’s favorite cocktail, but I digress. There were a couple of people at the bar. I sat with my cocktail and my phone and caught up on some email. A man walked in and sat down a chair away from me, and I instantly got the feeling that I needed to have a conversation with him.

Huh? What? Yes, I got a feeling. And the feeling was strong.

My intuition ordered another Old Fashioned and then the man and I looked at each other at the same time, and we launched into a two hour discussion. It turned out his wife was at the Clinic for a radical mastectomy and I was able to offer him hope. He is also an entrepreneur and I gave him titles from my favorite business reads and he wrote them all down. I worked with him on his thoughts and I think I did some of the best coaching I’ve done to date. He said he had the strangest feeling that he needed to talk to me, too. I didn’t ask if he had been born under a full moon, too, but his intuition liked a good beer.

It was a thought, a small voice, coupled with a feeling. We all have it, but you need to develop it.  I’ve added it to my workout routine.

Albert Einstein once said,

“It is our most valuable asset, and one of our most unused senses.”

He described it as “a feeling for the order lying behind the appearance of something.”

Often referred to as a gut feeling, sixth sense, instinct or your inner voice.

If you want to develop your intuition, keep an intuition journal. Use your intuition every day to make a guess about someone or something. Don’t act on it though. Just write it down. Focus on statements like, “I have a feeling that...” or “my intuition tells me that...” If there are any sensations associated with your intuition, be sure to record it. Look back in your journal and see how often you are right.

Your intuition knows how to lead you to your best life. I’d love to know: Does your intuition have a favorite cocktail, too?
